Last Night at BSM

July 16, 2018

Last night at BSM, Mr. Jackson Curreri led us in meditating on Mark 6:14-29 where we encountered different kinds of power, and the difficulties of discipleship.  We are empowered by the Spirit to live into the Good News of Jesus where power is redefined, and we are given the strength to participate in the building of the upside down Kingdom of God!

The community offered these prayers to God:

Prayers.

You are what is important. Help me not forget you.  I’m imperfect.  I love you and I’m sorry.  And for those in the **** to find your peace and freedom because you are all powerful and with you all can be done.

I pray for my sister’s changing relationships and living situation, for her boyfriend’s health and also her dog ****.  I pray for my dad moving to **** and for the rest of our relationship.  I pray for some difficult healing I need to do and for strength and progress.  Amen.

I don’t know, man. Help.

Prayers for ****, ****, ****, ****, and Family.

I give thanks to God for peace, and ask for perseverance to walk forward in hope and love.  I also lift up a friend who is feeling lost.

Dear God, thank you for being you–thank you for your creation, for its’ infinite intrigue and beauty.  Please help me know how to live, how to be in a family, how to be a citizen, how to be faithful.  Please care for my dad and my mom–they are so vulnerable.  Watch over my son as he turns 21.  Amen.

Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Jesus, for the rescue and recovery mission of the soccer players.  We pray that they all will recover and be restored to good health. We pray for the migrants who are in camps.  Thank you, Lord.  Thank you, Jesus.  (Please have youth leaders remove their hats in God’s house.)
