Last Night at BSM

December 17, 2018

Last night at BSM, Rev. Beth Scibienski led us in meditating on Luke 24:1-12 and shared parts of her book, “Who Is God When We Hurt?”

Reflection Question: Who stays with you in dark and uncertain times?

Listen to the sermon here.

The faith community lifted these prayers to God:

Please pray for my time with family during the holidays as well as: **** & ****, my mom during Christmas, and ****.

Prayers for all those survivors of head and brain injury.  We ask strength from the Lord.  Amen.

Dear God–I ask for your guidance and I offer you my life again.  Your daughter.

Prayers for **** who finds herself in prison for a lifetime–for one moment’s mistake.  Pray she finds good in her darkness.

Please be with **** and her son who is going through a long recovery.  Please be with those traveling to be with family during Christmas. Please be with those struggling during the holiday with mental health issues or those experiencing homelessness.

Help me see a shape for You. A hand to hold would be great.  I like the sound of those everlasting arms. A parent who sees and delights and welcomes me home.  Amen.

Prayers for ****’s hip replacement and ****’s knee replacement, that both go smoothly and recovery come fully in time.  Thank you, God, for the musicians here who help me feel you by my side and in my soul. Good luck in my interview Tuesday and direction for my future.

Prayers for my parents’ health, for my family’s health, for my mental health.

I pray for my sister **** and her relationship and for her life path.  I pray for **** and **** and for ****, who was the best dog.  I pray for the trauma I have to process and for a way forward.
