Last Night at BSM

October 30, 2017

Last night we gathered to hear from Rev. Samantha Evans on Revelation 21:1-6 about proclaiming a new vision that disrupts the scarcity narrative; encouraging us to live into the now and not yet Kingdom of God!

Listen to the sermon here.

The community offered these prayers to God:

I am thankful for the movie I saw this afternoon, “Arrival”, that gave me some hope and calm.

Prayers for wellbeing.

Asking the Lord to bless the **** and **** as they are reaching out to the community to help uplift the Spirit in this world.

Pray for everybody.

I pray for healing and redemption for **** and everyone that keeps him from being with us.

God, thank you.  I love you.  Amen.

Dear God, for this week I pray that I can keep true to this line from the Mad Farmer’s Manifesto:  “Be joyful though you have considered all the facts.”  Amen.

Prayers of thanks for meeting someone special.

God, please be with the boy at Elon University who killed himself; be with his family and all the Elon students and faculty and staff.  What is happening that 20 year olds are killing themselves?  Thank you for all my blessings.  Help me to always hear you.

Lord, soften my heart.  I’m being safe.  I’m investing my emotions only where I can get a return.  I’m living into the scarcity myth.  Disrupt this narrative.  Spirit of the living God, fall afresh on me.  Amen.

I pray that people I don’t see will find the grace that I find here again and again…and where I can, then let me be the instrument.

Lord, my body is not quite cooperative.  My arm and leg muscles constantly ache, and my head often is pounding.  I have a doctor’s appointment soon, and am praying for answers as to what is going on.  Also, praying for a peaceful, kind transition as some chapters draw to a close and others begin.
