Last Night at BSM

December 18, 2017

Last night, Devin Johns led us in a meditation upon Luke 1:39-46, 56-58 concerning the present empowering presence of the Holy Spirit when we risk loving and being loved by the people around us.

Listen to the sermon here.

The community offered these prayers to God:

I’m a pastor of last resort.  Pray for my community: ****.

Please hold my sister **** in prayer.

Prayers for my neighbor, **** and his family, as **** passed away last week.  Please pray for my time with my family next week and for discretion of whether to go on vacation in January : – )

I am so thankful for my pastors and this church!

Thanks to God for positive change in Alabama!  Help me open my heart, Lord–especially when I least feel like it.  Help me love you first.

I wanted to do this season well.  But that just hasn’t happened.  I ask for peace.  To be a good partner, co-worker, daughter, sister, friend.  Prayers for **** as she faithfully follows her call.

Tender God–Surround and fill ****, ****, and **** with your deep and unending love.  Give them strength for what’s to come.

Almighty God–Help us release some anxiety so that we can do this well and faithfully.  I love you.  Thank you for loving us all first.  Amen.

I ask for prayers to accept God’s grace and to extend it to others freely.
