Last Night at BSM

September 30, 2015

Last night, Rev. Andy Greenhow brought us a word from Luke 10:25-37.

In this passage Jesus tells us the Parable of the Good Samaritan. We have a tendency to categorize ourselves. But we are better when we are united; when we welcome not only those within our own categories but also those who are outside our categories. The Samaritan is someone who reaches across his categories. We model this at Broad Street Ministry through our invitation for all to join Christ at his table.

John Francis and the Amen Corner led us in Be Thou My Vision, The Lord’s Prayer, and Lord Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace.

Our community also offered the following prayers:

Dearest Heavenly Father, Thank you for the tears of joy that fill my heart and eyes in gratitude for this blessed worshipping family of mine. Thank you for their gifts that they use for all your children. Thank you for the unifying struggle as ***** and I share our whole lives with each other. Pease pull us together in your light and love, help us to create a partnership and love always in your honor. Thank you for the gift of this Christian man. Help us know our happiness through your joy—give us a light to carry into the world. I’m grateful to be your daughter, ******.

For ***** and *******, for me and for you. For all those who are afraid, and al those who are angry.

For those who have been wounded by the church family or their own families…For friends seeking direction and connectedness…For peace to surround and guide my mom this whole year…For ******, *******, ******, and *****. Loving God, hear our prayers.

Lord, Would You bring Your lasting joy and peace into my life. It’s so exhausting living my life for myself. Be the center in which I go to and from all else flows. I love you.
