Last Night at BSM

Last night, Rev. Andy Greenhow brought us a word from Revelation 1:4-8 entitled “Certainly the End of Something or Other. This was a message given on Christ the King Sunday, which is the last Sunday of the church year. On Christ the King Sunday we celebrate the fact that in all things Christ reigns. In the world around us and in our personal lives we experience the endings and beginnings of eras. What Christ the King Sunday reminds us is that when we think it’s the end of an era God is doing something new. Eras may come and go, but the reign of Christ never ends. You can listen here.

John Francis and the Amen Corner led us in: Blessed Assurance, Whole World in His Hands, Great is Thy Faithfulness and Higher Ground.

Our community also offered the following prayers:

Prayers for my friend and myself, that we may transition back to friendship well. Prayers as I rebuild another friendship that has known pain, in which I made a mistake God I ask for forgiveness and your presence in reconnecting with a dear friend.

 

I ask for prayer for the many universities around the country where students are demanding administrative responses to racial inequality. My brother is among the students a part of this movement, and it is crucial for these conversations to continue as a nation.

 

Thank you for helping. Please help ***** with his fear, doubt and anxiety. give him peace and a sense of ease. Please surprise ***** with your grace and give him peace in your embrace. Please hold your Muslim children close and pull Christians into brotherhood with them. Please help ***** feel heard, seen and understood. Keep the fires, love and sincerity in our pastors. Let me be useful. Let me be loved me be loved. Amen.

 

My friends **** and *****  to get the jobs they have interviews for this week. Amen.

 

God, thank you for all of the beautiful faces here today. Thank you for a weekend of rest and fun but also for focus and the beginnings of clarity. Please continue to work in my life and here at BSM. Instruct us. Guide us. Let us do only your will. Never our own. Please bless ****** and help her feel comfortable and loved in this community. Guide us to care for her and help her know that she has a welcoming home here.

 

Excited to meet my niece! I love her so damn much.

 

Holy Father, Thank you for your generous healing. Thank you for the ways you call us close together through your love. Help us hold your peace and love as we share your light in the world. Help make us the children you created us to be, bind us together in your love. Help us know patience and love from families. Thanks and praise, *****.

 

Pray for radical love and radical peace.

 

I’m grateful for so many things: my health and that of my loved ones, professional growth and opportunities and all the joyful relationships in my life, old and new!

 

For ******, and all those who are imprisoned either by concrete and steel walls, or by addiction, or by fear. Myself included.

 

Dear God, I feel estranged. Bring me back to myself, my family, and to you. Amen.

 

Lord, that we would trust in your reign, and act from a place of boldness rather than fear, even in the midst of pain, and fear. That we would continue to love .

 

All I can say today is thank you. Thanks for the broken messes and for quenching the thirsty and for being the one who calls for justice and mercy. Thanks for your presence in the lives of the people I love.
