Last Night at BSM

February 7, 2017

Rev. David Hallgren, guest preacher from Pennington Presbyterian Church, spoke in honor of the ordination service of Michele Ward, Pastoral Fellow at Broad Street Ministry. He preached on Matthew 28:1-10, the story of the women encountering Christ at the tomb after his resurrection. Rev. Hallgren encourages the community to come out of the chaos, and find the good news of the resurrection waiting for us. In so doing, while we engage in the rhythms of life, as the women did, God surprises and challenges us to live into the hope of the risen Christ.

I pray for wisdom to listen for God’s word in unexpected places while guarding against those who seek to do me harm. I pray for strength to fight for justice and to show God’s love.

Dear God,
