Lent at BSM

We are about to enter the season of Lent at Broad Street Ministry. Lent is 40 day season in the church year that ends on Easter Sunday. During Lent we examine ourselves and our communities to ask how they can be better aligned with God’s dream for the world. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 10, 2016. On Ash Wednesday we are reminded that we have come from the dust of the earth, and that we are dependent upon God throughout our whole lives even after we return to the dust of the earth. Our Pastoral Associate for Enfolding, Julia Watkins will be leading a worship service on Ash Wednesday at 6:15 pm.

Throughout Lent we will be exploring the theme: “Agrarian Rhythms and A Life of Faith.” In Sunday worship we will be digging into a time to sow, a time to reap, a time to pull weeds, a time to lay fallow, and a time to burn it all down. Our exploration of Agrarian Rhythms and a Life of Fatih will culminate on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016.
