Prayers of the People

August 20, 2017

Broad Street Ministry congregation worships every Sunday at 4pm. During worship, folks gather to sing, praise, hear Scripture, and offer of themselves. Yesterday, Michele Ward preached from Genesis 24:34-38, 42-49, 58-67, and here are the prayers that the congregation offered yesterday:

I pray for hope and peace, relief from depression and anxiety and trauma. Thank you.

God, please help me in this time of need. Help me remember I am not alone. Give me the inspiration to follow through, and not flee. Provide me with the confidence – And let me always remember to share my gifts.

Dear God—

Thank you for getting us through the service. Oh boy! I’m aware of how liminal this place is; and how tenderly we need you, God. I love you. Amen.

Dear Father

Please heel my mom, **** and my places of anger. Please bless ****’s stress levels and please give **** everything he needs to make **** healthy. Thank you for all the many blessings.

The past weeks I haven’t known what to pray for or how. I feel like I’m going through the motions when I come to church and I’m not sure the point of believing in God or God’s kingdom when humans act the way we do on earth. But at least now I’m writing it down?

For **** and ****

Dear Lord,

Thank You for a restful few days. My spirits are starting to raise. Please be with me as I rejoin the fight for justice. Amen.

Prayers for the health of my family and my mother’s back. Prayers for my relationships.
