August 2010
Welcome to Broad Street Ministry's online newsletter, BROADcast!
AUGUST 2010 EDITION!

Worship @ BSM--August 2010
EVERY Sunday @ 6p.m.
followed by a delicious free dinner!

We gather together week after week to encounter the living God in worship and build relationships with our neighbors. People from all kinds of backgrounds come together in one room to hear a Word proclaimed, sing the songs of faith, and break bread together.
You are invited to join us, for any or all parts of worship, every Sunday evening.
We also extend table fellowship by eating dinner together following each service--a chance for you to know and be known by others in this community.

FREE PARKING is available along the south side of Pine Street! b/t Broad and 13th St. Pick up a parking permit from the church and throw on dashboard--or download it from the BSM website by clicking here.

A Motley Order Choir Update
...and an invitation

The Motley Order Choir is taking a "sabbath" from leading worship for the rest of the summer. This will be a great chance for the choir to solidify its songbook, welcome new members, and fellowship together.

Rehearsals will continue every other week, and this time of sabbath offers a great opportunity for people to explore an interest in singing with the choir.

The magic of the Motley Order Choir lies in its diversity, which means we need more people like YOU!
Auditions are not required, just come and start singing along. You'll have the chance to participate in several rehearsals before the Motley Order Choir leads worship again in September.

Rehearsals are every other Wednesday evening, starting at 7 p.m., and typically run until 8 or 8:30. Come join us for dinner at 6 p.m. and then head up to the sanctuary.

The next month's rehearsal dates are:

August 4th

August 18th

September 1st

September 15th

1000 lbs of food distributed in 1 hour!

On Tuesday, July 20th, 30 of our neighbors came and received supplemental food boxes from the federal government through our partnership with Philabundance.  The number of people in the program has grown over 50% in one month.

We are thrilled that this program is growing, and we thank YOU for your support and referrals.

We're so glad you came!
