Last Night at BSM

January 2, 2018

Last night at BSM, Rev. Samantha Evens led us in a meditation on Isaiah 61-62 where we learned that God has anointed us for a purpose: to bring good news to the oppressed and set all free!

Listen to the sermon here.

The community offered these prayers to God:

Prayers for the less fortunate in our beloved city.  The homeless, the prisoners, the lost and outcast.  Prayers for God’s mercy to flow from His anointed people to all who are in need in 2108.  Thanks, Amen.

I pray for God’s help with anxiety, depression and loneliness.  Thank you.

Please pray for my parent’s job search, for my stepsister as she adapts to motherhood, for **** and her family as they grieve the death of ****, and for new life in 2018!

I ask for prayers to get back to work as a truck driver so I can help my family and get to where I need to be in life by God’s grace and mercy.  Thank you, ****.

Prayer for myself.  Anxious about new pastor and worried because I only want to worship/would lead worship at BSM.

Dear God, please help me be true to my New Year’s Resolution to work and focus steadily on untangling the problems in my family, especially with my step-children and husband, and also with my son, and to do this with my therapist until things are better.  Please, please help me.  Please protect my young son from all this family tribulation.  Please guide my son, and strengthen him, as he becomes himself.  I love you, thank you, Amen.

Thanks to God for the gift of ****!  May she continue to grow, learn and share her gifts and joys with her new flock.  May she be safe and protected and always firmer in her faith.  Amen.

Prayers for guidance in career choices.  Prayers for peace.  My anxiety has grown harder and harder to control.

Almighty God.  I feel all the emotions.  Wow.  I don’t know that I ever really thought this day would come.  It’s so surreal.  It’s all new.  I’m learning as I go.  I know you got me.  I’m still sad. I’m still apprehensive.  I have no clue what’s coming next but I know you have gone before me.  I love you, thank you for loving me first.  Amen.

Prayers for ****, ****, ****, for life.  Thank you.

Thank you, Lord.  Thank you, Jesus, for Pastor **** and best of luck, joy, and happiness to her future.

Dear Lord, watch over my mother and be with my grandmother in her final days.  Thank you for **** and be with her on the next step of her journey.  Here’s hoping 2018 is better than 2017.  Thank you for all the blessings you have given me, today and every day.  Amen.

Thank you, precious Lord, for ****.

I pray for fresh outlooks in 2018 for unlearning old habits and beliefs and learning better ones, and for new opportunities.  I pray for faith in God and strength in myself.  I pray for clear eyes and an open heart.
