Last Night at BSM

November 19, 2018

Last night at BSM, Rev. Laura Colee led us in meditating on Romans 12:9-21.  We are to be the church, and extend radical hospitality!

Listen to the sermon here.

The faith community lifted these prayers to God:

Please pray that God would provide the finances I need to continue in my graduate program for ****.  Pray that my relationship with **** will grow and flourish.

Please pray for ****’s health in ****.  Pray for her success in her new job and her first big assignment.  Pray for the **** family as they mourn the loss of their **** son **** who was suffocated by his seat belt.

Prayers for **** and his family.  His sister was in a hit and run accident.

This is a lonely season for many.  You look at storylines and how things are advertised, and think, why is this not my life? It just compounds the unwelcome solitude some feel.  May we bring joy to everyone we come across this holiday season, not just those we know.

Dear Lord, I miss you and BSM.  I’m sorry I haven’t been more present.  Thank You for not letting me fade away.  Amen.

Dear God–Please bless our family with health and expansion.  Please help us trust in you and have patience.  Please give my mom and dad a miracle.  We love You.

I am in need of a job. I ask for direction and provision of work.

Lord, shore up those who will face the hurt and rejection of their childhoods and families this week. Help us to have strong hearts, ones that can empathize, and also love ourselves.

I pray we make it through the winter.  I pray for time to sit and wait.

God, please be with my dad and my deceased mom.  Help me to know what to do and when.  Be with my brothers and sisters: help us to be more loving and peaceful.  I pray for **** and **** and **** and ****.  I pray for **** and **** and Me.  Amen.

Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Jesus, for family and friends.  May we remember those in the California fires, also the homeless and jobless and friendless. Let us pray for everyone who is in fear of everything.  Thank you, Lord.  Thank you, Jesus.
