Last Night at BSM
December 25, 2015

Last night, Rev. Andy Greenhow brought us a Christmas message entitled, “Unto Us a Child is Born.” Andy preached about how Jesus was born at a time of violence and rebellion, where the world’s most powerful empire oppressed its own people. This baby Jesus would eventually be executed by this powerful empire. The difference is he would be raised from the dead, and in this we find hope for a new world. The baby Jesus being born on Christmas reveals to us how we want to create a better world for babies, and we hope it will be a better world than it was for us. You can listen here.
We sang the following carols: O Come All Ye Faithful, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, Angels We Have Heard on High, What Child is This?, and Silent Night.
We worship together every Sunday at 4pm. We will have Wednesday night educational opportunities starting January 6 at 6:15pm.
Our community also offered the following prayers:
Dear God, please continue to shine light into darkness—Amen—*****.
I pray in the New Year and this time of celebration, I can focus on family, friendships and quality time in the spirit.
I thank God for a wonderful healing Christmas.
I pray that my girlfriend has a wonderful Christmas even though this is usually a difficult time for her. I also ask that our New Year’s Eve together is amazing and the celebration is fantastic. I just hope it goes perfect, as I am very nervous about it. I hope her friends and I get along great. I finally ask that these missing loved ones on this holiday are comforted by God’s glory, and that those forced to live on the streets have a place to go. I pray that the rest of break is amazing, and that everything goes perfectly on Christmas.
I am grateful tonight. This will all be ok…probably. Thanks for being born, Jesus.
My Christmas prayer…I want God to make it VERY CLEAR how I can work for Him/Her. I would like for my love relationship with ***** to deepen and grow to the point that he introduces me to his family—if that is what God wants for the both of us. I ask God to help me stay calm and centered through the chaos at work and prepare me for my next career. I ask that God show me how to resolve the tension between my daughter and me. May the words of my mouth and meditations of my heart be acceptable to Him/Her always. I pray for all people in the world.
Prayers for: Peace in the New Year, a worldwide commitment to the restoration of the environment, a friend who is ill, for family, friends, and relationships, for presence.
Merry Christmas BSM and thankya! Merry Christmas Philadelphia! Feliz Navidad Amigos de Jesus!
