Chris Summers is the son of two USAF officers and was born at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, NV. His family moved around a decent amount as a kid until his parents retired at Vandenberg AFB in northern Santa Barbara county. It was a conservative agricultural town called Santa Maria where he spent his childhood. In high school, he proudly served as the captain of his basketball team. From there, he went to noted liberal college of Cal Berkeley where he studied environmental economics. After graduation, he returned to his hometown to work at a hospital. Chris greatly appreciates the different views from his background because they have helped him in the formation of his own. He is excited to donate his time and talents to Broad Street Ministry and the people of Philadelphia.
