Thank You to Our Table Setters: Keystone First!

There are many different ways to get involved at BSM. One way that some of our neighbors go above and beyond the call is by sponsoring a meal!

This September we were delighted to have Keystone First sponsor a meal and join us for a day of volunteering!

This partnership was launched as a result of 779 Keystone First members receiving mail services at Broad Street Ministry. Many of these members have been unsuccessfully outreached for coordination of health care services. Our partnership offers Keystone First the ability to meet members where they are, and provide services to improve overall health and wellness for their most vulnerable membership.

As part of their quarterly commitment, Keystone First offered 15 volunteers to help serve lunch at Breaking Bread and on the first floor they offered a health screenings and education event for the community.  Blood Pressure, Glucose and BMI screenings were offered to 37 community members, of which 20 were Keystone First members who received some additional screenings (Hemoglobin A1c for diabetic KF members).

We were so delighted to have the Keystone First crew join us at BSM and engage with our guests in such a unique way! Their day of volunteering and engagement with our guests is magnified by their financial sponsorship as well.

• Guests dine with dignity through a nutritious meal prepared by our professional chefs & served table-side.
• The Personal Care Pantry & 315 Threadz Clothing Closet provide necessities from socks to personal hygiene products distributed discreetly and respectfully.
• The BSM Mail Service promises the safe receipt of personal mail and earned benefits.
• The effective delivery of social services from health care to legal representation and job assistance are offered under one roof.
