The Marks of a True Prophet

Rev. Andy Greenhow brings us a word from 1 Corinthians 12:1-11. Because it is prophet Sunday, Andy’s sermon also includes readings from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “Letter from a Birmingham Jail.” Andy talks about how a prophet is someone who responds to tension by adding more tension. They create a situation so packed with crisis that we have to respond. They do this because they personally experience the crisis. The prophet also indictes us to be personally involved in the crisis. They ask us to think personally about what we are going to do about the crisis we see.
