This Coming Sunday at BSM

March 17, 2016

This Sunday, March 20, 2016 is Palm Sunday, and Rev. Sammie Evans will be bringing us a word from Luke 19:28-40. The disciples proclaim Jesus as king, but he never refers to himself as king and surely doesn’t act like the conquering king the people had hoped for, and he is killed for it. At the end of the text, the Pharisees try to control the situation by asking Jesus to quiet his disciples, and he responds by saying that if they were quiet, the stones would cry out. Humans try to determine how God will work in the world, and God always responds with a much different (and much better) plan. When God is the author, the outcome is better than we could have ever dreamed ourselves.

John Francis and the Amen Corner will be leading us in: Dancing in the Streets, People Get Ready, You Say You Wanna Revolution, All Hail the Power of Jesus Name, and Blessed.
