Last Night at BSM

September 17, 2018

Last night at BSM, Rev. Laura Colee led us in meditating on Exodus 3:1-15 where God appears to Moses in a burning bush, and reveals God’s own name.  We are called to be known–to risk vulnerability and connection–for we serve a God who dares to be known more fully for love of us.

Listen to the sermon here.

The faith community offered these prayers to God:

Please pray for peace within but also that I may be mobilized to action.  Please pray for ****, ****, ****, ****, ****, my brother’s job search, ****, ****, and my man.

Prayers for the **** family, and for **** (my grandpa).

Please put a prayer for my co-workers–****’s family (her **** recently passed away), and **** (in the hospital).  Thank you!

Prayers

Prayers for growing the gifts of the Holy Spirit; opening ****’s and ****’s eyes, ears, and mind; and wisdom and guidance for sharing faith and religion (words of knowledge and wisdom) with others.

**** is ****, frail, and last week she fell and broke her leg, hit her head.  She is in rehab and struggling with confusion.  Please pray for healing and for mental clarity. Thank you.

Dear God, I pray for safety and rescue for those impacted by hurricanes and typhoons.  I pray for the healing and eradication of hate between people who are different.  Amen.

Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Jesus.  We pray for all who are involved with Florence–1st Responders, National Guard, and all those who are trying to survive.  Thank you, Lord.  Thank you, Jesus.  Protection to our city, country, and world.  Thank you, Lord.  Thank you, Jesus.

I thank God for unexpected new friends!

Dear Father, please give my Dad the miracle he doesn’t even know he needs.  Thank you for everything.  Your loving daughter.

I AM–Trans!  I’m telling God!  I pray to find joy and genuine expression on my journey.

I ask for peace, and to be comforted in the knowledge that it is through God that I am justified.

God, thank you for your care.  Lead me. Help me see.  Amen.  PS: Please watch over my son.  He is young and far away.
