Last Night at BSM

December 24, 2018

Last night at BSM, Rev. Laura Colee led us in meditating on Luke 2:1-7 where Jesus is born under cover of darkness; acknowledging the pain, sweat, and fear that accompanies bringing new life into the world.

Reflection Question: What new thing is being born in your life now

Listen to the sermon here.

The faith community lifted these prayers to God:

Please pray for the **** family as they mourn the loss of the patriarch of the family, ****, and for **** as she mourns the loss of her mother.

Prayers for a new job for me, that pays money enough to live on and is also life giving and useful. Prayers for women I know with debilitating and aggressive breast cancer.  Prayers for those who feel more poignant loneliness or poverty this year, because of the consumer lifestyle that rules this country; making people feel like they are lacking when they are whole!

I pray for everyone affected by the gov’t shutdown, for everyone at our border, and for everyone who gave money to build a wall instead of a home.

Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Jesus, for my wonderful and delightful family.  May we embrace each other as we meet over the next few days.  Thank you for the musical talent of ****.  May he continue at BSM.  Thank you, Lord.  Thank you, Jesus.

Please pray for my father who is losing his home and possessions to foreclosure.

Jesus, I appreciate Your presence in the darkness.  Stay with me please.  I’m short on words these days.  Be with my mother too.  Amen.

Prayers for ****–her marriage, strength, and courage.  Prayers for relationships…****, ****, ****.

Prayers.
