Last Night at BSM

October 16, 2017
Last night we gathered to hear from Rev. Samantha Evans as she led us in meditation on Exodus 32:1-14 about the people making a new identity for God, one that suited their purposes, and the disastrous results.  Listen to the sermon here.

The community offered these prayers to God:

Prayer for wellbeing.

I’ll stay out of the choir.  Some don’t like me being here.

I ask for prayer that I may listen to God’s voice and allow him to reveal Himself to me.  Pray for my brother’s health, my Mom’s relationship and **** as he awaits his major surgery.

Dear Lord, please be with my **** and **** as their Mother/Grandmother just passed away.  Please also bring comfort to **** as her beloved dog **** passed this morning.  Help me to be her strength as they mourn.  Thank you for all the blessings You have brought to my life, today and every day.  Amen.

Prayers for ocean life thriving, and an offering up to the community my gift of art.

Prayers for love, respect, N. O. W., civil rights, and kindness.

I pray that this week I will gain confidence for myself and compassion and love for others.

Prayers for Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, Texas, California, Florida, St. John, and the U.S. as a whole.  Praying for the government and peace for the world.

Gracious God, thank you for the grace you give me every single day.  Help me trust you and myself.  Help me trust others.  Help me extend the grace you have, to myself and to others.  I love you.  Thank you for loving me.  Amen.

My roommates’ friend who is 23 just had an aneurism.  She is unconscious in the hospital and things were “not looking good” last I heard.  Please pray for her miraculous healing.

Thank you, Holy Friend and Beloved God, for this time of joy and growth and challenge and learning to feel comfortable being vulnerable as I lean on you and your people.  I love you.  Thank you for teaching me to love you and others and me.  I love you BSM.  Thank you for carrying and caring for the Word.

Prayers for my Mother’s back, and for the use of my creativity.

Dear God, thank you for your beauty in the midst of the darkness.  For the joy of marigolds and breaking bread and sermons.  Help my partner and me prep for ****’s arrival this week.  I love you.  Amen.

God, I am grateful for gratitude.  And I am grateful for you.
