Last Night at BSM

Last night at BSM, Rev. Sammie Evans preached on the temptation of Jesus in the wilderness in the Gospel of Matthew. She spoke to the draws to power, and to the realities of its misuse in social, political, and religious contexts. There is power in the gospel, and it starts with the redemption of it.

Domestic violence homeless & unemployed threats from **** & his unfaithfulness also he drinks & does drugs & wants to control me in every way & has forced me to do things sexually that I don’t want to do & always puts my life in danger & leaves me alone most of the time

Please pray:

For our country

For my ****’s heart, her hope and her future

For me, that I may have integrity as I am challenged in my work

Prayers for my ordination discernment process

 

Dear God, please help me to know how to be a wife, mother, stepmother, daughter, and person. How can I be faithful to you and in a family?

Thank you Lord

Thank you Jesus

May we start with Peace within each other and move forward.

Please be with **** and give him strength through his illness

Please continue to give **** and **** strength through her pregnancy

Please give me patience and strength as I job search and struggle with my current job

God,

Help me carve out the time.

Direct my priorities.

Heal my eyes. Calm my anxiety.

Direct my attention.

I love you so much.

Amen.

Prayers for my relationships.

Lord,

Help me manage stress and anxiety as I juggle my many commitments and responsibilities. I pray that my own stuff doesn’t get in the way of being there for friends and family.

Please be with **** & all who love her as she is close to death. Relieve her of pain, draw her near. Be with **** & her family as they mourn the loss of ****. Be with ****’s grandmother as she may need to have her foot amputated. Take away her pain & bring peace to her family. Travel mercies for the **** as they go home after months of being away. Please help me focus…to follow my path, to put away distracting to be open. Prayer for Love…let it permeate everything.

**** to fall into her gifts, to feel encouraged, & to focus on the work she has before her\

Prayers for **** & her baby—may they both be healthy & happy! For **** & her daughter—may they come together. For BSM—may we always be strong & unified in our love for God & God’s world.
