Last Night at BSM

February 18, 2019

Last night at BSM, Rev. Laura Colee led us in meditating on Matthew 5:14-16 where Jesus says to us: “let your light shine!”  We do this together as we journey into dark difficult places to shine light on the injustice in this world.

Listen to the sermon here.

The faith community lifted these prayers to God:

Prayer: God’s intervention regarding employment, support, finances, housing, committed salvation, and locating a “real” place to fellowship and serve (and friendships).

Please pray for **** (my daughter) and her family as they mourn the loss of their grandmother and mother **** (my ex’s mother).  Comfort and grace of God.  Pray for ****’s peace and traveling mercies if she chooses to come in for the funeral.

Dear Lord, help me to feel less anxious about the future.  Grant me the strength to take it one day at a time.  Amen.

Dear God, please bless **** and **** as they travel to ****’s audition in ****. Please help me write to my brother. Amen.

Please open eyes to the crisis of gun violence and changes that need to be made.  Please be with **** as she navigates her mother’s estate, and mourns her loss.

Lord, thank you.  I am rich in all the ways that matter.  Please pray for wisdom and discernment about buying a house!

I am so very sad and depressed.  I pray for relief, but I do not think God is going to help me at all.

God, please help me to feel your peace.  I am still struggling through my grief, and do not feel as strong as I want to.  I can feel my grief fueling my doubts, and want to feel closer to you.

Prayers for everyone here; doing all that they do here in this building and out in the wider world. Guide, comfort, and release them.
