Last Night at BSM

April 13, 2015

4.12.15Last night the BSM worshipping community celebrated the second Sunday in Easter.  The choir led us in The Beatles Come Together,  Bob Marley’s One Love, and Florence + The Machine’s You Got the Love.  Rev. Sammie Evans preached about the early church and how, empowered by the Holy Spirit, they lived lives that proclaimed that there is enough for no one to want for anything.  You can listen to her meditation here:

We then offered the following prayers to God as our “Psalms of the Street.”

My best friends Father had a stroke on Wednesday.  We ask that you could pray for a healthy recovery.  But more importantly that this could be used as an opportunity to share the gospel with the family, none of which are believers.

I would certainly appreciate prayer for one of my clients – *****- he was recently reincarcerated and is struggling.  He feels unsafe & along while in jail.  He recently lost his mother and grandmother & his father is serving a life sentence.  He faces an uphill battle when released and is considered high risk.  I continually pray that God will provide him with peace, love, and good people.

For survivors, for healing, for us all to realize our role in building safe & nurturing cultures.  May my friends – & – know their beauty & worth.  God, make it right.

Please pray for me at my age – 76 years old, and much impressed by Broadstreet Ministry Church.  Thank you.

Loving God,

Thank you for Sammie & David & Gracie.  Thank you for giving them a purpose in this world.  Thank you for using them to demonstrate that we are not alone.  I ask you to show up in surprising places this week.  For your glory.  Amen.

Merciful God,

Grant me the inner strength to know that I am enough and that you provide me with enough love and grace to be and to do.  Amen

For my mom – that she always know & feels that what she did, & what she does & what she has to offer is Enough.  That *****& *****can see that.  That all of our eyes will be open to community living – with the belief that what we have to offer is enough, because you are enough Lord.

Dear God,

I pray for safe holding and loving guidance to support me through my career transition/decision process.  Help me to stay grounded in your love and your vision for your kingdom in faith.  Amen

I don’t know where I’m going

my relationship has hit new hurdles, and I’m learning that I’m actually really terible at conflict.

my Schooling is actually going better than I thought!

Dear Lord,

Please bless my Aunt ***** & the entire ***** family.  Thank you for Sammie’s word!

God,

Your name is Good & Holy.  Hallelujah!

Please Lord, grant me the strength to believe that there will be enough.  Help me to give up the things of the Faith to help your Children.  Please grant me the belief in order to stop being so selfish.  It benefits no one, least of all you.  Amen

Pray that the whole world will come together.  Be One Love.  In Jesus name

Amen

Lord, please continue to be with me and guide my steps.  I feel my calling and am asking you to fill me with your Spirit that I may be open and brave enough to say yes.

I give thanks for the blessings of love, health, and joy in my life.  I pray for the health of my family & the elimination of their illnesses.  I pray for peace in their hearts & mind.  Amen.

Prayers for those struggling w/ drugs because of low self-esteem.

Prayer for members of the military returning home.

My God,

Thank you.

That is all.

Pray God’s continued blessings and grace for *****.

I also request guidance,&, God’s blessing this week as I interview for a new position.

God,

Thank you for new beginnings.  Thank you for your in the flesh (as all our neighbors, family, friends) to remind of love & to pull us out of fear or shame.  Thank you for Gracie…her love, her joy, her spirit.  Bless her as she continues her journey.  Guide her feed, light her path, carry her when needed.  I pray for the world…for the darkness that lingers & tries to grow.  That we will do all we can to spread Love, Spread wisdom, spread Peace.  Amen
