This Coming Sunday at BSM
May 21, 2015
Here’s what’s on deck for Sunday, May 24th, 2015 at Broad Street Ministry. Worship’s at 4:00pm. Rev. David Norse will be preaching about Pentecost. when the community we know as the Church began. Our text is Acts 2:1-21. The sermon is titled “speaking in the native language of each.” We will be exploring the different ways the Holy Spirit empowers us to hear the Good News of God’s love in ways that we can understand, from music & the visual arts, to poetry, to a home cooked meal from a loved one, to raising our voices in protest.
We are looking forward to being led in worship by Sarah and Malchijah. This is going to be a high energy Sunday, with lots of songs to lift your spirit. We’re singing the BSM favorite Bring Em All In, Aretha Franklin’s Spirit in the Dark. Tracy Chapman’s Save Us All, Stevie Wonder’s As, and a new favorite I See A World.
Every Sunday after worship, we also have community engagement groups. These groups are a great way to get to know people, maybe learn something about yourselves, one another, and/or God, and get to know a few more peoples’ names. This Sunday we’ve got two really cool groups on deck, a Sermon discussion group with Mark Miller and a conversation about the dangers of Nationalism with Rev. Andy Greenhow.
